How to make a Playing Card Birthday Card

Friday is here again. This week went by fast. My week was sort of ok; I felt a little off for the most part, stressed etc. As I write this blog post, I am soaking my tender tootsies in a bucket full of warm water, 2 tbps. of vinegar, and 3 tbsp. of Epsom salts. It feels sooooooo nice.

Let’s get to this week’s tutorial. Our good friend just recently moved away. Every Friday night a group of us get together and play Crazy Eights and he was one of the group. It’s his birthday on Monday, his first one away from home, so we thought that we’d send him a special card and some cookies for a treat. We came up with a playing card birthday card for him and we’re going to share a how to with you today. We hope that you enjoy it!

Playing Card Birthday Card

You will need:

White cardstock cut into a 6 ¾ x 4 ¾ card

A suit for your card (we have chosen hearts since we have a heart punch and we went with a blue theme because that’s one of his favourite colours)

A number stamp (he’s turning 23 so we went with a number 23 playing card)

Happy Birthday stamp for the inside (we also chose a birthday cupcake to stamp inside)

Ink to match your card colour and theme

Step 1

Stamp any words or images that you want on the inside first. We chose “Happy Birthday” in dark blue and a green cupcake.

Step 2

Stamp the number and suit in two of the corners.

Step 3

Glue on your suit. We have chosen hearts and we’ll be gluing on 23 of them to match or friends age. It’s such an easy card to make. Only a couple of steps and then you have a super cute or cool birthday card that’s sure to please.
