“All you need is love, love. Love is all you need.” – “All You Need Is Love” by the Beatles
Tomorrow is Valentine’s Day and if you still need some ideas for some sweet and simple Valentine’s cards to hand out, you’ve come to the right place.
I think we all remember when we were little and had
to hand out those mini Valentines to all the rest of our peers at school. Well,
today I’m going to show you how to make some of those from scratch. They are so
easy to make and are sure to put a smile on anybody’s face as you hand them out
tomorrow!
Mini Valentines How
To:
I’m going to show you a couple of different types
of cards that you can make, but really it is up to you and the supplies you
have. Anything goes, but here’s what we came up with.
Step One:
Pick out some Valentiney stamps. We choose the
polka dotted heart and love candy.
Step Two:
Find some scrap white cardstock to stamp the images
on as they will be cut out and pasted on the card at the end.
Step Three:
Stamp the images with the colours of your choosing.
We chose to use the Color Box light pink and light blue ink. Don’t forget to
emboss! The finished product will come out much nicer if you are able to emboss
it.
Step Four:
Cut out the
stamped images.
Step Five:
Choose
backgrounds to paste the images onto. For the heart we’ve chosen a 2 ½ inch
pink circle and for the candy, a pastel blue 2 ½ inch square on top of a white
2 ¾ inch square. We’ve also stamped “to and from” on the backs of the cards.
Step 6:
Paste the
cut out heart onto the pink circle. We used glue tape, but a glue stick will
work also.
Step 7:
For the
candy Valentine, we’ve used our Fiskars corner punch on the blue layer for an
extra added touch. Then we glued the candy cut outs on the blue layer and then
the blue layer onto the white layer.
Here are a
few more examples of the mini Valentine’s that we came up with. Enjoy and Happy
Valentine’s Day!
