Welcome to Our New Blog!

Here it is...our new blog! Well, it’s not really new, but it has a new look. I have been spending days trying out new templates, colours, fonts, etc. and I feel this new look best represents Paperwhite Creations and the things that we love creating. It also kind of looks like the Paperwhite Creations website; I wanted to have everything coordinated and match so I gave the blog a crafty earth toned theme. I’m going to start out this New Year and new blog slow and steady because I have lots of ideas and I don’t want to overwhelm myself or anybody else, haha.

Things will still get tweaked here and there until I get it to how I want it to exactly look, but take a peek and see the brand new look of the Paperwhite Creations blog.

Under Construction

“The road to success is always under construction.” -  Lily Tomlin

A few weeks back we talked about New Year’s resolutions. I had mentioned a few things that we planned on doing this year with our card/crafting business and now that we are starting to slowly settle in to the new year, we can start making those goals a reality.

First up is our blog. My goal over the next few weeks is to give our blog a face lift. I’m hoping to come up with a new layout and colour scheme that is fresh so that we can share a bunch more of our crafty ideas with you. I have been looking through different templates and colours and am having great difficulty deciding. There are so many options but which one is the best for our blog and which one is most appealing and eye catching for others to look at? So many options and decisions to make so it is safe to say that our blog is going to be looking a little under construction for the weeks ahead until I can get the prefect combination for our blog put together.

A few things that we are hoping to incorporate into our new blog this year are tutorials, new card ideas, and product reviews on different crafty items or items that relate to what we crafty girls are passionate about!

Have a happy week.

Colour of the Year 2015

“Marsala enriches our mind, body and soul, exuding confidence and stability. Marsala is a subtly seductive shade, one that draws us into its embracing warmth.” -Leatrice Eiseman Executive Director, Pantone Color Institute

It’s that time of the year. Yes, we are doing our blog post on the colour of the year for 2015 which is Marsala. I love the idea of having a colour of the year. Up until last year, I had no idea what so ever that this even existed, but I am glad that it does because it is so cool.

This year’s colour is completely different from last year’s Orchid Purple. Pantone’s website describes Marsala as “A naturally robust and earthy wine red, Marsala enriches our minds, bodies and souls.” It’s a very deep and rich colour that to me, seems very warm and elegant. This colour would look amazing as a shade of nail polish, perfect for the toes. I hope that this year we can utilize the colour of the year in lots of our new card designs.

I have picked out some neat examples of Marsala for you. I went with a theme of “an evening out.” I picked some gowns and shoes, make-up, and accessories all in the shade of Marsala. Think of it as my ideas for Oscars ensembles for 2015!

Be sure to take a look at Nicole’s awesome Marsala picks as well.

Enjoy!

I decided to go with more of a “home décor” theme for my picks of Marsala coloured items. Even just a few simple things in this lovely shade can make your home feel more up to date and fashionable. -Nicole
