We’re getting close to the end of our Pantone Spring colours blogs. The
final two colours that we have left are blues, two very different blues, so we
are going to do two very different things with them.
This week we chose Island Paradise (I wish I was relaxing at an Island
Paradise about now!) and we thought about the beach, palm trees, relaxation,
and sunshine, so we are going to incorporate those things into a card that you
can send to people just because and transport them to a little island paradise.
Check out what we have come up with...
We decided to go with all blues with the exception of the sun and we
decided to make two versions. One version will be with a Silhouette (or any
other brand) cutting machine and the other will be cut by hand by tracing
images onto the cardstock. All the colours will be the same, but we just want
to show that you can easily make this card even without a fancy cutting machine.
Pick out some images of palm trees, the sun, and waves to cut out on
your machine. Then pick your shades of blue. If you’re doing it by hand then
print off some images and trace them onto the cardstock and cut out. We went
for a yellow sun, dark blue palm trees, and bright blue waves. We opted to use
the closest shade that we had to Island Paradise as our layer on top of the
navy blue card.

Now if you’re using a machine, then pick a font and colour pen that you
want your words to be printed in. We chose to print on the Island Paradise blue
layer. If you’re cutting by hand, then choose some words that you want to stamp
on the Island Paradise blue layer and stamp in a shade of dark blue and emboss.
Lastly you are going to glue all of the parts on the light blue layer
and then finally you will have two similar, but slightly different in looks and
make, Island Paradise cards.
