“Oh Christmas tree,
Oh Christmas tree!
Thy leaves are so unchanging
Oh Christmas tree, Oh Christmas tree,
Thy leaves are so unchanging”

Thy leaves are so unchanging”

This week the focus is on Christmas
trees. Last week we were giving you ideas in advance for the outfits that you
could wear to the holiday parties that you’ll be attending, so this week we are
giving you ideas of how to decorate your Christmas tree. We have found some
cool themes that you could use to decorate your trees. Take a look at the
pictures and little write ups that we did and be inspired. Again, these are
just some ideas. There are so many other themes out there that you can do.
White:
It may not be for everyone as it
is not as traditional, but a white tree can look nice with the right
decorations. You probably want to stick with one or two colours for the
ornaments too many colours and types of ornaments may be too much and take away
from the colour of the actual tree.
White and gold always compliment each other nicely; actually white and any metallic colour always look very sharp.
If you want to add some colour in with the white tree and make it look more traditional, try the traditional red and green and it will make the white tree pop. Blue is another colour that looks so nice with white too.
Frames:
A way to make your tree more personal is to
decorate it with different framed pictures of your family and friends.
Metallic:
Metallic colours are a nice way to spruce up your Christmas
tree. If you combine it with a solid color then it will look really classic.
Two combinations that look good are blue and silver
and red and gold.
Christmas
Cards:
I’ve seen people do this before. They use their current
Christmas cards or Christmas cards from previous year to decorate the tree.
Very inventive!
Food:
Food is another good choice to use to decorate your
tree. Try and pick something that won’t spoil. Candy is always a good idea; it’s
very colourful and usually wrapped and then you can eat it after you take down
your tree! I also found a tree that is decorated with seed packets for the
garden lovers and one that is decorated with utensils, very different and cool.
Kids/Homemade
Trees:
You can get the kids to make a bunch of decorations
or use their saved artwork to decorate the Christmas tree. You can also join in
the fun by getting everyone in the house to make some decorations to put on the
tree.
Beach:
Beach themes are always fun to work with. You can
make more sweet and cute beach-like or you can make a fancy beach theme too.
Rustic:
Rustic can include a lot of things but I think of
more neutral earthy calm colours with elements of tartan, wood, and burlap.
Mish-Mash:
Here we have a few trees that don’t fit in the rest
of the categories but they are cool ideas all the same to try out.
