Lunchbox Notes

In keeping with the back to school theme, we’re going to talk about lunches today. As weird as it sounds, I can’t wait to have kids so that I can pack them lunches for school. I love the idea of coming up with snacks, things to have for lunch, and ideas for homemade baked special treats. The crafty writer side in me is also looking forward to writing little love and encouragement notes to pack in along with their lunch. I think I first heard of/saw this idea on a TV commercial and I thought it was the sweetest thing. For younger kids, school can be a little intimidating and even stressful, so getting a sweet or funny note from mom or dad is sure to brighten their day. I found a really cool website called The Kids Activity Blog and they have a bunch of templates and ideas that show you how to make these lunch notes. So take a look now, print off a few notes or get ideas for your own, and you’ll be ready for your kiddo’s first day of school!

DIY Confetti Notebook Cover

“I was filling entire school notebooks with stories by Grade 3. Of course, they were double-spaced, and the handwriting was huge.” – Linwood Barclay

I love notebooks! I write in one every day just for fun; I have lots of old ones and I look back at them every once in a while. They were my favourite school supply to buy back when I went to school, and today we are going to show you a very simple but fun notebook for back to school.

All you need are some notebooks, craft punches (we went with hearts), cardstock in a variety of colors (we picked all blue), and glue!

Busy Week and Christmas Cards

Happy Friday fellow crafters! I have to admit that this week went by fast and was hectic because of the holiday so we didn’t quite create a spectacular blog post. We are going to start up some fun posts with back to school tutorials in the coming weeks though, so keep an eye out for those.

Part of what made this week hectic was the fact that we started making Christmas cards. Yes, I know it sounds super early to be making Christmas cards, but when you’ve got to post them on Etsy and get them ready for craft sales and stores, it’s always best and efficient to get them done early so you can have them out there to be sold. We have been designing a few new cards that we’ll share with you soon and have been recreating some of our past favorites and best sellers like the ones I’ve posted below. So take a quick peek and maybe you’ll get some ideas for your Christmas cards this year. Maybe you can get inspired to create some cards early so that you won’t have to worry about them when Christmas time rolls around; that time of the year can get super busy super fast so it may be nice to get one thing out of the way now. Happy crafting!
